“Pay it Forward”
The word "Tylerisms" describes the beliefs and values that Dr. Tyler emphasizes when it comes to his family. Both Dr. Timothy Tyler and his Spouse, Dr. Dwinita Mosby Tyler consider the act of "paying it forward" as a "Tylerism" that is important for the life-blood of the community.
Dr. Dwinita Mosby Tyler is the Chief Catalyst and Founder of The Equity Project, LLC – a consulting firm supporting organizations and communities in building diversity, equity and inclusion strategies and The HR Shop, LLC - a human resources firm designed to support non-profits and small businesses. She is the former SVP of Human Resources & Chief Inclusion Officer for Children’s Hospital Colorado – the first African American woman to hold that position in the organizations 100+ year history. She is also the former Executive Director of the Office of Human Resources for the City and County of Denver – the first African American woman to hold that position in the 63+ year history of the agency.
When their blended family came together six years ago, Dr. Dwinita, Dr. Timothy and their 3 adult children became a force to be reckoned with. Their youngest son, Chinelo Cary Tyler , a graduate of Morehouse College, is the immediate past president of the Young People's and Children's Division of the AME Church and a current member of the General Board of the AME Church.
Their Daughters: Imani, a graduate of Clark-Atlanta University and Jasmine, who is currently completing her degree, both live in Atlanta, Georgia and are budding entrepreneurs.
Dr. Tyler's mother, Bishop Carolyn Tyler Guidry, is the 122nd Consecrated and elected Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Dr. Tyler credits the love and support of his mother, his father (now deceased), and his 5 siblings with instilling in him a foundation that helped him to grow as a leader in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
